PaulMuldoonwasborninCountyArmaghin1951.HereadEnglishatQueen'sUniversity,Belfast,andpublishedhisfirstcollectionofpoems,NewWeather,in1973.Heistheauthoroftenbooksofpoetry,includingMoySandandGravel(2002),forwhichhereceivedthePulitzerPrizeforPoetry,andHorseLatitudes(2006).Since1987hehaslivedintheUnitedStates,whereheistheHowardG.B.ClarkProfessorintheHumanitiesatPrincetonUniversity.From1999to2004hewasProfessorofPoetryatOxfordUniversity.AFellowoftheRoyalSocietyofLiterature,PaulMuldoonwasgivenanAmericanAcademyofArtsandLettersawardin1996.Otherrecentawardsincludethe1994T.S.EliotPrize,the1997IrishTimesPoetryPrize,andthe2003GriffinPrize.
