TheEU’sresponsetothe“BeltandRoad”InitiativesuggeststhattheInitiativeenjoysapopularityinEuropeandEuropeexpectstogetaliftfromtheriseofChineseeconomyanddevelopeconomicandtraderelationswithChinabymakingfulluseofthevariousinitiativesandmechanismslaunchedbyChina.However,tounderstandtherealattitudeofEuropetowardstheinitiative,theofficialdeclarationsoftheEuropeancountriesarefarfromenough.Therefore,itisnecessarytofurtheranalyzethemotivesbehindEuropeanresponsesandthepotentialofthebilateralcooperationbetweenthetwosides.Inthisbook,theauthorhasmadeaconcreteanalysisontheEuropeanresponsesthroughmultiplefieldtripsandon-setinterviews,andthenputforwardsomespecificpolicysuggestionsonthefuturecooperationbetweenthetwosides.Anotherfocusofthisbookaretherisksofbuildingthe“BeltandRoad”inEurope.Itisofgreatsignificancetostrengthentheawarenessofriskpreventionincaseofemergencies.Afterall,astitchintimesavesnine.Thelandmarkproject,theChina-EuropeLand-SeaExpressPassage,forinstance,hasencounteredaseriesofobstaclessuchasthepoliticalturmoilofGreece,thepoliticalcrisisofMacedoniaandtherefugeecrisisofEurope.Inaddition,the“SilkRoadEconomicBelt”,whichisthelandroutebetweenChinaandEurope,alsofacesanarrayofdifficultiesandchallenges.Theregulationlimit,thetechnologicalbarrierandthelackofmutualtrustbetweenChinaandEuropehavemadeitdifficultforChinatobuildthe“BeltandRoad”inEurope.Inviewofthis,Chinashouldbeconsciousofthesituationandthinkahead.
