Fordecades,BillWurtzelworkedinadvertisingbydayandmoonlightedasaguitaristinbigbands.In1989,heretiredfromadvertisingandturnedtomusicfulltime.Now73,heplayswiththeHarlemBluesandJazzBand,performingontheUpperWestSideandtheAmericanFolkArtMuseum,amongotherplaces.Mr.WurtzelisafoundingdirectoroftheJazzFoundationofAmerica,whichhelpsjazzandbluesmusiciansinneed.ClaireWurtzelhasbeenaneducatorfor40years.Herfocusisonsupportingteacherswhoworkwithstudentsstrugglingwithlearningand/orbehaviordifficulties.ClairewasonthefacultyofBankStreetGraduateSchoolfor17years,whereshetaughtcoursesandchairedtheDepartmentofSpecialEducation.Sheworkswithteachers,administrators,families,psychologists,librarians,andmuseumeducatorsbothnationallyandinternationally.ClaireandBillWurtzelweremarriedin1961,have2daughters,3grandchildren,andliveinNewYorkCity.
