Dr.ChristopherWillardreceivedhisBachelor'sdegreeinEnglishfromWesleyanUniversity,wherehefirstbecameinterestedinmeditation.Aftergraduating,hespenttimetravelingandworkingavarietyofjobsincludingateacherinapsychiatrichospitalandanartist'sassistant.Ingraduateschoolhedidhisdoctoralworkonthepsychologicalapplicationsofmeditationandmindfulnesspractice.Overthepasttenyears,hehasattendedretreatswithThichNhatHanh,JackKornfield,PemaChodron,NoahLevine,andotherBuddhistteachersinboththeU.S.andinAsia.AlthoughheconsiderstheEngagedBuddhismofThichNhatHanhhisspiritualhome,hehasstudiedandpracticedextensivelyintheTheravadatradition,withsomedabblinginTibetanBuddhism.Inthepastfewyears,hehastaughtmeditationtoawiderangeofpeople,fromyoungchildrentorecentlyparoledmurdererstopsychotherapistsandschoolteachers.Dr.WillardhastaughtwiththeInstituteforMeditationandPsychotherapyandvolunteeredattheInsightMeditationSociety'sTeenRetreat.HecurrentlyworksasapsychotherapistatTuftsUniversity,andconsultsanddoesprivateworkintheBostonarea.Whennotworkingorpracticingheenjoyscooking,hiking,reading,writing,internationaltravel,andanycombinationofthesehecanmanage.,,
