JimKuroseJimKuroseisaDistinguishedUniversityProfessorofComputerScienceattheUniversityofMassachusetts,Amherst.Dr.KurosehasreceivedanumberofrecognitionsforhiseducationalactivitiesincludingOutstandingTeacherAwardsfromtheNationalTechnologicalUniversity(eighttimes),theUniversityofMassachusetts,andtheNortheastAssociationofGraduateSchools.HereceivedtheIEEETaylorBoothEducationMedalandwasrecognizedforhisleadershipofMassachusetts’CommonwealthInformationTechnologyInitiative.HehasbeentherecipientofaGEFellowship,anIBMFacultyDevelopmentAward,andaLillyTeachingFellowship.Dr.KuroseisaformerEditor-in-ChiefofIEEETransactionsonCommunicationsandofIEEE/ACMTransactionsonNetworking.HehasbeenactiveintheprogramcommitteesforIEEEInfocom,ACMSIGCOMM,ACMInternetMeasurementConference,andACMSIGMETRICSforanumberofyearsandhasservedasTechnicalProgramCo-Chairforthoseconferences.HeisaFellowoftheIEEEandtheACM.Hisresearchinterestsincludenetworkprotocolsandarchitecture,networkmeasurement,sensornetworks,multimediacommunication,andmodelingandperformanceevaluation.HeholdsaPhDinComputerSciencefromColumbiaUniversity.KeithRossKeithRossKeithRossistheLeonardJ.ShustekChairProfessorandHeadoftheComputerScienceDepartmentatPolytechnicInstituteofNYU.BeforejoiningNYU-Polyin2003,hewasaprofessorattheUniversityofPennsylvania(13years)andaprofessoratEurecomInstitute(5years).HereceivedaB.S.E.EfromTuftsUniversity,aM.S.E.E.fromColumbiaUniversity,andaPh.D.inComputerandControlEngineeringfromTheUniversityofMichigan.KeithRossisalsothefounderandoriginalCEOofWimba,whichdevelopsonlinemultimediaapplicationsfore-learningandwasacquiredbyBlackboardin2010.ProfessorRoss’sresearchinterestsareinsecurityandprivacy,socialnetworks,peer-to-peernetworking,Internetmeasurement,videostreaming,contentdistributionnetworks,andstochasticmodeling.HeisanIEEEFellow,recipientoftheInfocom2009BestPaperAward,andrecipientof2011and2008BestPaperAwardsforMultimediaCommunications(awardedbyIEEECommunicationsSociety).Hehasservedonnumerousjournaleditorialboardsandconferenceprogramcommittees,includingIEEE/ACMTransactionsonNetworking,ACMSIGCOMM,ACMCoNext,andACMInternetMeasurementConference.HealsohasservedasanadvisortotheFederalTradeCommissiononP2Pfilesharing.
