MarvinBittingerForoverthirty-eightyears,ProfessorMarvinL.Bittingerhasbeenteachingmathattheuniversitylevel.Since1968,hehasbeenemployedatIndianaUniversity-PurdueUniversityIndianapolis,andisnowprofessoremeritusofmathematicseducation.ProfessorBittingerhasauthoredover190publicationsontopicsrangingfrombasicmathematicstoalgebraandtrigonometrytoappliedcalculus.HereceivedhisBAinmathematicsfromManchesterCollegeandhisPhDinmathematicseducationfromPurdueUniversity.SpecialhonorsincludeDistinguishedVisitingProfessorattheUnitedStatesAirForceAcademyandhiselectiontotheManchesterCollegeBoardofTrusteesfrom1992to1999.HishobbiesincludehikinginUtah,baseball,golf,andbowling.ProfessorBittingerhasalsohadtheprivilegeofspeakingatmanymathematicsconventions,mostrecentlygivingalectureentitled"BaseballandMathematics."Inaddition,healsohasaninterestinphilosophyandtheology,inparticular,apologetics.ProfessorBittingercurrentlylivesinCarmel,IndianawithhiswifeElaine.Hehastwogrownandmarriedsons,LowellandChris,andfourgranddaughters.DavidEllenbogenDavidEllenbogenhastaughtmathatthecollegelevelfortwenty-twoyears,spendingmostofthattimeintheMassachusettsandVermontcommunitycollegesystems,wherehehasservedonbothcurriculumanddevelopmentalmathcommittees.HehasalsotaughtatSt.Michael'sCollegeandTheUniversityofVermont.ProfessorEllenbogenhasbeenactiveintheMathematicalAssociationofTwoYearCollegessince1985,havingservedonitsDevelopmentalMathematicsCommitteeandasadelegate,andhasbeenamemberoftheMathematicalAssociationofAmericasince1979.Hehasauthoreddozensofpublicationsontopicsrangingfromprealgebratocalculusandhasdeliveredlecturesatnumerousconferencesontheuseoflanguageinmathematics.ProfessorEllenbogenreceivedhisBAinmathematicsfromBatesCollegeandhisMAincommunitycollegemathematicseducationfromTheUniversityofMassachusettsatAmherst.Aco-founderoftheColchesterVermontRecyclingProgram,ProfessorEllenbogenhasadeeplovefortheenvironmentandtheoutdoors,especiallyinhishomestateofVermont.Inhissparetime,heenjoysplayingkeyboardinthebandSoularium,volunteeringasacommunitymentor,hiking,biking,andskiing.Hehastwosons,MonroeandZack.
