VirginiaWoolf(January1882–28March1941)wasanEnglishwriter,andoneoftheforemostmodernistsofthetwentiethcentury.Duringtheinterwarperiod,WoolfwasasignificantfigureinLondonliterarysocietyandacentralfigureintheinfluentialBloomsburyGroupofintellectuals.HermostfamousworksincludethenovelsMrsDalloway(1925),TotheLighthouse(1927)andOrlando(1928),andthebook-lengthessayARoomofOne'sOwn(1929),withitsfamousdictum,"Awomanmusthavemoneyandaroomofherownifsheistowritefiction."弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫（或译弗吉尼亚·伍尔芙）。英国女作家，被誉为二十世纪现代主义与女性主义的先锋。两次世界大战期间，她是伦敦文学界的核心人物，同时也是布卢姆茨伯里派（BloomsburyGroup）的成员之一。最知名的小说包括《戴洛维夫人》（Mrs.Dalloway）、《到灯塔去》（TotheLighthouse）、《雅各的房间》（Jakob'sRoom）。
