RAOUFA.IBRAHIMisaProfessorofMechanicalEngineeringatWayneStateUniversity.From1963till1971,heworkedasaresearchengineerattheAerospaceResearchCenterofrocketsindustryinEgypt,thengainedhisPhDinMechanicalEngineeringfromtheUniversityofEdinburghin1974.From1976to1979,heworkedasaSeniorResearchSpecialistatSakrFactoryinCairoandworkedasanAdjunctAssistantProfessoratCairoUniversity.In1979,hemovedtotheUnitedStatesandworkedatShakerResearchCorporation,beforejoiningTexasTechUniversityin1980asAssistant,Associate,andthenfullProfessor.In1987,hejoinedWayneStateUniversityandcontinuedhisresearchactivitiesinnonlinearrandomvibration,liquidsloshingdynamics,friction-inducedvibration,andflutterofaeroelasticstructures.In1994hewasnamedtheArthurCarrProfessorofEngineeringandin1995hewasawardedtheBoardofGovernorsOutstandingProfessorAward.Hehaspublishedmorethanninetypapersinrefereedjournals,andaresearchmonographentitledParametricRandomVibration(Wiley,1985).HeisaFellowofASMEandAssociateFellowofAIAA.
