AldousLeonardHuxley(26July1894–22November1963)wasanEnglishwriterandoneofthemostprominentmembersofthefamousHuxleyfamily.BestknownforhisnovelsincludingBraveNewWorldandawide-rangingoutputofessays,HuxleyalsoeditedthemagazineOxfordPoetry,andpublishedshortstories,poetry,travelwriting,andfilmstoriesandscripts.HuxleyspentthelaterpartofhislifeintheUnitedStates,livinginLosAngelesfrom1937untilhisdeath.AldousHuxleywasahumanistandpacifist,andhewaslatterlyinterestedinspiritualsubjectssuchasparapsychologyandphilosophicalmysticism.Heisalsowellknownforadvocatingandtakingpsychedelics.BytheendofhislifeHuxleywasconsidered,insomeacademiccircles,aleaderofmodernthoughtandanintellectualofthehighestrank,andhighlyregardedasoneofthemostprominentexplorersofvisualcommunicationandsight-relatedtheoriesaswell.
