Globaldevelopmentsinmedicineandhealthshapetrendsinmedicaleducation.AndinChinaeducationreformhasbecomeanimportantfocusasthecountrystrivestomeetthebasicrequirementsfordevelopingamedicaleducationsystemthatmeetsinternationalstandards.Significantmedicaldevelopmentsabroadarenowbeingincorporatedintotheeducationofbothdomesticandinternational-medicalstudentsinChina，whichincludesstudentsfromthedistrictsofChina'sHongKong，MacaoandTaiwanthataretaughtthroughmandarinChineseaswellasstudentsfromavarietyofotherregionsthataretaughtthroughtheEnglishlanguage.Thislattergroupcreateshigherdemandsforbothschoolsandteachers.UnfortunatelythereisnoconsensusastohowtoimprovethelevelandqualityofeducationforthesestudentsorevenastowhichEnglishlanguagematerialsshouldbeused.SometeachersprefertodirectlyuseoriginalEnglishlanguagematerials，whileothersmakeuseofChinesemedicaltextbookswiththehelpofEnglishlanguagemedicalnotes.ThelackofconsensushasemergedfromthelackofEnglishlanguagemedicaltextbooksbasedonthecharacteristicsofmodernmedicaleducationinChina.
