SvetoslavSavchevwasborninGabrovo,Bulgaria,andgraduatedfromSofiaUniversityin1980.Hehasworkedforthejournal"Mathematika"since1981,andiscurrentlyviceeditor-in-chief.Heistheauthorofseveralbooks,andhasbeenengagedindiverseactivitiesforgiftedstudents.TituAndreescuistheDirectoroftheAmericanMathematicsCompetition,aprogramoftheMathematicalAssociationofAmerica(MAA).HealsoservesasChairoftheUSAMathematicalOlympiadcommittee,HeadCoachofthetheUSAInternationalMathematicalOlympiadTeam,andDirectoroftheMathematicalOlympiadSummerProgram.
