JohnKane,aneducatorandartist,isacollegeprofessorteachingmedia,communications,leadership,andvisualartscourses.HegrewupinSomerville,Massachusetts,andnowresidesontheseacoastofNewHampshire.By1969RichardF.Bellak’sworkwasinseveralmajorpublications.InAugustofthatyear,theaspiringphotojournalisttraveledfromhishomeinBrooklyn,NYtotherollingCatskillMountainsonanadventureofalifetime.Althoughinhismid-thirties,Bellakcouldsensethespecialmomentsbeinghadbythegatheringflowerchildren.FortwodaysheaimedhislensattheWoodstockaudience.Theresultisabeautifullyatmosphericcollectionofneverbeforeseenimagescapturingtheessenceofwhatitwasliketoattendthislife-changingevent.
