Embodied Grounding

Inrecentyearstherehasbeenanincreasingawarenessthatacomprehensiveunderstandingoflanguage,cognitiveandaffectiveprocesses,andsocialandinterpersonalphenomenacannotbeachievedwithoutunderstandingthewaystheseprocessesaregroundedinbodilystates.Theterm'embodiment'capturesthecommondenominatorofthesedevelopments,whichcomefromseveraldisciplinaryperspectivesrangingfromneuroscience,cognitivescience,socialpsychology,andaffectivesciences.Forthefirsttime,thisvolumebringstogetherthesevarieddevelopmentsunderoneumbrellaandfurnishesacomprehensiveoverviewofthisintellectualmovementinthecognitive-behavioralsciences.Thechaptersreviewcurrentworkonrelationsofthebodytothought,languageuse,emotionandsocialrelationshipsaspresentedbyinternationallyrecognizedexpertsintheseareas.
