TocelebratePeter'sbirthday,FrederickWarneispublishingneweditionsofall23ofPotter'soriginaltales,whichtaketheveryfirstprintingsofPotter'sworksastheirguide.TheaimoftheseeditionsistobeascloseaspossibletoBeatrixPotter'sintentionswhilebenefitingfrommodernprintinganddesigntechniques.Thecolorsanddetailsofthewatercolorsinthevolumesarereproducedmoreaccuratelythaneverbefore,andithasnowbeenpossibletodisguisedamagethathasaffectedtheartworkovertheyears.Mostnotably,TheTaleofPeterRabbitrestoressixofPotter'soriginalillustrations.Fourweresacrificedin1903tomakespaceforillustratedendpapers,andtwohaveneverbeenusedbefore.Ofcourse,BeatrixPottercreatedmanymemorablechildren'scharacters,includingBenjaminBunny,TomKitten,JemimaPuddle-duckandJeremyFisher.Butwhateverthetale,bothchildrenandadultsalikecanbedelightedbytheartistryinPotter'sillustrations,whiletheyalsoenjoyaverygoodread.Becausetheyhavealwaysbeencompletelytruetoachild'sexperience,Potter's23bookscontinuetoendure.
