DavidMalangi(1927-1999)oftheManharrngupeoplewasaleadingfigureinthedevelopmentofthecentralArnhemLandbarkpaintingmovementandholdsaprominentplaceinAustralianAboriginalart.MadefamousbyhisdesignusedontheAustralianonedollarnoteintroducedin1966,Malangipaintedoveraperiodoffourdecades.ThisvolumetracesthedevelopmentofMalangi'sworkfromtheearlybarkpaintingsofthe1960sthatrecordhispatrilineallyinheritedlandandceremonies,tothemasterfuldedicationstohismother'slandandcultureforwhichhewasalsoresponsibleandwherehespentthelastthirtyyearsofhislife.
