AlexandreC.DimianhasbeenAssociateProfessorforProcessDesignandIntegrationattheUniversityofAmsterdam,TheNetherlands,since1993.HewrotehisPhDthesisinchemicalengineeringattheTechnicalUniversityofBucharest,Romania,andTUHanover,Germany.Heworkedasaconsultantforcomputerapplicationsinprocessindustriesfor12years,hasrealizednumerousindustrialprojects,andhasmorethan100refereedscientificpapersaswellasfivebooksandthreepatentstohisname.Hisresearchinterestsfocusonthecomputer-aideddesignofchemicalprocesses,and,morerecently,onbiofuelsandbiorefineryapplications.C.SorinBildeaholdstwoMScdegreesinchemicalengineeringandautomaticsandreceivedhisPhDfromtheUniversityofAmsterdam,TheNetherlands.FollowingpostsasAssistantProfessoratDelftUniversityofTechnologyandaresearcherattheUniversityofAmsterdam,theNetherlands,heiscurrentlyAssociateProfessorattheUniversityPolitehnicaBucharest,Romania,whereheteachesprocesscontrolandvariousotherchemicalengineeringcourses.Hehasmorethan50publishedpapersandconferencepresentationstohisnameandhisresearchinterestsareinthefieldsofnonlineardynamicsandintegrationbetweenprocessdesignandprocesscontrol.
