DrAsssenAlladinisaClinicalPsychologistandAdjunctAssistantProfessoratFoothillsMedicalCentreandDepartmentofPsychiatryandPsychologyattheUniversityofCalgaryMedicalSchool.hehasbeenpracticingandteachinghypnosisandclinicalpsychologyforover25years.HeservedasSecretaryoftheBritishSocietyofExperimentalandClinicalHypnosisformanyyearsandcurrentlyheisthePresidentoftheCanadianFederationofClinicalHypnosis-AlbertaSociety.HewasFellowoftheRoyalSocietyofMedicineandAssociateFellowoftheBritishPsychologicalSociety.DrAlladinhaspublishedmanychaptersandpapersonclinicalhypnosisandistheauthorofHandbookofCognitive-HypnotherapyforDepression:AnEvidence-BasedApproach(Lippincott,Williams&Wilkins,2007)andHypnotherapyExplained(RadcliffePublishing,2008).HeservedasguestEditorforSpecialIssuesinHypnotherapyfortheJournalofPreventiveNeurologyandPsychiatry(1992),theJournalofCognitivePsychotherapy:AnInternationalQuarterly(1994),andtheInternationalJournalofClinicalandExperimentalHypnosis(April2007&July2007).Heisinterestedintheempiricalvalidationofclinicalhypnosisandtheintegrationofhypnosiswithotherformsofpsychotherapy.Heisthe2005recipientoftheBestResearchPaperfromDivision30oftheAmericanPsychologicalAssociation.DrAlladincomesfromtheislandofMauritiusandhecompletedallhisstudiesinEngland.HewasinitiallytrainedasaregisteredNurseandaSocialWorkerbeforetakingPsychologyandClinicalPsychology.Dr.AlladinhastwoadultchildrenandlivesinCalgary,Alberta,Canada.Helovesteaching,andtravelingwithhiswifeof27years.Hehaspresentedaddressesandworkshopsonclinicalhypnosisatnationalandinternationalconferences.
