Thebookisdevotedtocontemporaryissuesofradar,control,fractaltheoryandthedetectionofweakradarsignalsinintenserealnon-Gaussianinterference.ThecoreofthebookisthelecturesandreportsofProf.AlexanderPotapov(V.A.KotelnikovInstituteofRadioEngineeringandElectronicsRAS,Moscow,Russia)fortheperiod2011-2019,readatuniversitiesinChinaandatmanyinternationalconferencesinChina.Thetheoryofwavescatteringbyanisotropicstatisticallyroughsurfaces,whichisanimportantpartofstatisticalradiophysicsandradar,isconsidered.Anewanalyticmethodisdevelopedandgeneralizedforsolvingproblemsofradarimaging.Themethodinvolvesanalyticdeterminationofthefunctionalsofstochasticbackscatteredfieldsandcanbeappliedtosolveawideclassofphysicalproblemswithallowanceforthefinitewidthofanantenna\'spattern.Theunifiedapproachbasedonthismethodisusedtoanalyzethegeneralizedfrequencyresponseofascatteringradiochannel,ageneralizedcorrelatorofscatteredfields,spatialcorrelationfunctionsofstochasticbackscatteredfields,frequencycoherencefunctionsofstochasticbackscatteredfields,thecoherencebandofaspatial-temporalscatteringradarchannel,thekernelofthegeneralizeduncertaintyfunction,andthemeasureofnoiseimmunitycharacterizingradarprobingoftheEarth\'ssurfaceorextendedtargets.Theintroducedfrequencycoherencefunctionsareappliedforthoroughandconsistentstudyoftechniquesformeasuringthecharacteristicsofaroughsurface,aircraftaltitude,anddistortionsobservedwhenradarsignalsarescatteredbystatisticallyroughsurfaces,includingfractalones.Toexemplifyurgentapplications,radiophysicalsynthesisofdetaileddigitalreferenceradarterrainmapsandmicrowaveradarimagesthatwasproposedearlierisconsideredandimprovedwiththeuseofthetheoryoffractals.
