Thepresentnationalreformagendasstressthatrigorouscontentandhighexpectationsbeaccessibletoallstudents,includingstudentsfromgroupswhoseachievementhastraditionallylaggedbehindthatofthemajorityculturestudents.ImprovingtheachievementinUSschools,importantforbothsocialandeconomicstability,willrequirethatinstructionberesponsivetoournation'sincreasinglydiversestudentpopulation.Thisbookincludestheoreticalframeworksaswellassubstantiveresearchfindingsandprovidesexamplesofrecentlydevelopedclassroomobservationinstrumentsbasedonresearchofeffectiveteachingpracticesforculturallyandlinguisticallydiversestudents.EachchapterrepresentsanewaspectofclassroomobservationresearchthatwillassisteducatorsintheirendeavorstoimproveUSschools.
