MichaelTaylorisaprofessorofpoliticalscienceattheUniversityofWashingtoninSeattle.HehaspreviouslytaughtattheUniversityofEssexinEnglandandatYaleUniversity.HewasformanyyearsaleadingpractitionerofRationalChoicetheoryandpublishedtwoinfluentialbooksoncooperationintheabsenceofcentralizedcoercion:AnarchyandCooperation(laterre-titledasThePossibilityofCooperation,1987)andCommunity,Anarchy,andLiberty(1982).HehasalsopublishedarticlesintheJournalofTheoreticalPolitics,PoliticsandSociety,andtheJournalofPoliticalPhilosophy,amongothers.
