ThereisstillverylittleknownaboutthelifeofVivianMaier.WhatisknownisthatshewasborninNewYorkin1926andworkedasanannyforafamilyonChicago’sNorthShoreduringthe50sand60s.Seeminglywithoutafamilyofherown,thechildrenshecaredforeventuallyactedascaregiversforMaierherselfintheautumnofherlife.Shetookhundredsofthousandsofphotographsinherlifetime,butneversharedthemwithanyone.Maierlostpossessionofherartwhenherstoragelockerwassoldofffornon-payment.Shepassedawayin2009attheageof83.
