Thisbookpresentsanargumentforenvironmentalhumanrightsasthebasisofintergenerationalenvironmentaljustice.Itarguesthattherightstocleanair,water,andsoilshouldbeseenastheenvironmentalhumanrightsofbothpresentandfuturegenerations.Itpresentsseveralnewconceptualizationscentraltothedevelopmentoftheoriesofbothhumanrightsandjustice,includingemergenthumanrights,reflexivereciprocityasthefoundationofjustice,andacommunitarianfoundationforhumanrightsthatbothprotectstherightsoffuturegenerationsandmakespossibleaninternationalconsensusonhumanrights,beginningwithenvironmentalhumanrights.Intheprocessofmakingthecaseforenvironmentalhumanrights,thebooksurveysandcontributestotheentirefieldsofhumanrightstheoryandenvironmentaljustice.
