ProfessorFabrizioCavanireceivedhisPhDinIndustrialChemistryfromtheUniversityofBolognain1986.From1986to1990heworkedattheCatalysisCentreofEniChem,whereheinvestigatednewcatalystsfortheoxychlorinationofethyleneandfortheAlkylationofbenzenewithpropene,andgavetechnicalassistancetothecatalystsproductiondivision.In1990hejoinedtheCatalyticProcessesDevelopmentteamattheUniversityofBolognabecomingAssociateProfessorofIndustrialChemistrytherein2000.Heisauthorofover200journalarticles,25patents,twobooksoncatalyticselectiveoxidationandonebookonthedevelopmentandmanagementofchemicalprocessesandistheeditorof4specialjournalissues.HeisontheboardoftheItalianPlatformforSustainableChemistry.ProfessorGabrieleCentiisFullProfessorofIndustrialChemistryattheUniversityofMessinaandapastPresidentoftheEuropeanFederationofCatalysisSocieties.HeistheCoordinatoroftheNetworkofExcellenceIDECATandCo-DirectoroftheEuropeanLaboratoryforCatalysisandSurfaceScienceandPresidentofERIC(EuropeanResearchInstituteofCatalysis).Hisresearchactivitieslieinthedevelopmentofindustrialheterogeneouscatalystsforthefieldofsustainablechemicalprocesses,environmentalprotectionandcleanenergy.Heisauthorofover260journalarticles,editorand/orauthorof7books,editorof7specialissues,chairmanofseveralInternationalCongressesandEditoroftheWiley-VCHjournalChemSusChem.HeisalsoaCoreTeammemberfortheEuropeanTechnologyPlatformforSustainableChemistry.ProfessorSiglindaPerathonerisAssociateProfessorofIndustrialChemistryattheUniversityofMessina.Aftersomeyearsexperienceinthefieldofphotophysicsandphotochemistryofsupramolecularsystems,shemovedtotheareaofcatalysts.In2001shejoinedtheUniversityofMessinawherehermostrecentresearchinterestincludenanostructuredzeolites,catalyticmembranes,catalystsforreactionsinsupercriticalfluids,catalystsforwastewaterpurificationandremediation,photo(electro)catalyticconversionofcarbondioxide,andfuelcells.Heraimisthedesignofnovelcatalyticmaterialsforsustainableprocesses,environmentprotection,andcleanerenergy.Sheisauthorofover130publications,including15reviews,hasbeenco-editorofabookandtwospecialjournalissues,andhascontributedtovariousentriesinencyclopedias.ProfessorFerruccioTrifiróisFullProfessorofIndustrialChemistryattheUniversityofBologna.CurrentlyheistheDeanoftheFacultyofIndustrialChemistry,andDirectorofthejournal"LaChimicaeL'Industria"(ChemistryandIndustry).Hismainresearchactivitieslieinthedevelopmentofheterogeneouscatalystsforprocessesinthefieldofpetrochemistry,environmentalprotection,finechemicalsandspecialtiesproduction,cleanenergyandhydrogenproduction.HeisapastChairmanoftheWorldCongressofSelectiveOxidation.Heisauthorofover300papersinInternationalJournals,twobooksonSelectiveOxidation,andof18patents.
