作者简介

MaryShelleywasbornin1797,onlydaughterofWilliamGodwinthephilosopherandwriterandMaryWollstonecraft,theradicalauthorofAVindicationoftheRightsofWoman.Hermotherdiedafewdaysafterherbirth.In1814sheleftEnglandwithPercyByssheShelley,andmarriedhimin1816onthedeathofhiswife.ShereturnedtoEnglandinn1823afterherhusband'sdeath.ShelleyisbestrememberedastheauthorofFrankenstein,butshewroteseveralotherworksincludingnovels,biographiesandshortstories.Shediedin1851.
