KunihikoKodaira(1915-1997)workedinmanyareasincludingharmonicintegrals,algebraicgeometryandtheclassificationofcompactcomplexanalyticsurfaces.HeheldfacultypositionsatmanyuniversitiesincludingTokyo,Harvard,Stanford,andJohnsHopkins,andtheInstituteforAdvancedStudyinPrinceton.HewasawardedaFieldsmedalin1954andaWolfPrizein1984.
