KATSUHIKOMIZUNOborninKyotoin1941,graduatedfromDoshishaUniversityandtheTokyoCollegeofPhotography.HiscamerahasbeenfocusedonhishistorichometownofKyotosince1969.In2000herenovatedamachiyasaidtodatefromthelatterhalfoftheEdoperiod,convertingitintoamuseumhousinghisphotographicworks.Hehaspublishedabout130books,includingLandscapesforSmallSpaceswhichwonaGoldMedalintheforeword2002bookoftheYearAwards.
