Thelegendaryandiconicfigure,SpikeMilliganwasbornatAhmednagarinIndiain1918.HereceivedhisfirsteducationinatentintheHyderabadSindhdesertandgraduatedfromthere,throughaseriesofRomanCatholicschoolsinIndiaandEngland,totheLewishamPolytechnic.HethenplungedintotheworldofShowBusiness,seducedbyhisfirststageappearance,attheageofeight,inthenativityplayofhisPoonaconventschool.Hebeganhiscareerasabandmusician,butbecamefamousasahumorousscriptwriterandactorinbothfilmsandbroadcasting.Hewasthecreator,principalwriterandperformeroftheinfamousGoonShow.SpikereceivedanhonoraryCBEin1992andKnighthoodin2000.Hediedin2002.
