ChristopherMakoswasborninLowell,MassachusettsandgrewupinCaliforniabeforemovingtoParistostudyarchitectureand,later,toworkasanapprenticetoManRay.Sincetheearly1970s,Makoshasdevelopedaboldlygraphicstyleofphotojournalism,documentingthephysicalformasasignatureappearinginallhiswork.Duringthe1980s,hewasaseminalfigureintheNewYorkartscene,wherehewasresponsibleforintroducingtheworkofbothJean-MichelBasquiatandKeithHaringtoAndyWarhol.ItwasWarholwhocalledMakos“themostmodernphotographerinAmerica.”Hisphotographshavebeenexhibitedinnumerousgalleriesandmuseumsinternationally,withworksshownattheGuggenheimMuseum,BilbaoandtheWhitneyMuseumofAmericanArt,NewYork.Makos’imageshaveappearedincountlessmagazinesandnewspapersworldwide,includingInterview,RollingStone,House&Garden,NewYorkMagazine,Esquire,Genre,andPeople.Heistheauthorofseveralimportantbooksincludinghismostrecent,Equipose(Glitterati,2005)andExhibitionism(Glitterati,2004).MakoslivesinNewYork.,,,,
