NorbertKrause,bornin1959,obtainedhisPhDinchemistryin1986underH.HopfattheTechnicalUniversityofBraunschweig.AfterpostdoctoralappointmentswithD.Seebach(ETHZürich)andM.Saunders(YaleUniversity),heobtainedhisqualificationinthegroupledbyK.HafnerattheTechnicalUniversityofDarmstadtin1993.HewasappointedtotheUniversityofBonnin1994andsubsequentlymovedtobecomeProfessorofOrganicChemistryattheUniversityofDortmundin1998.Hehasreceivedseveralawards,includingtheADUCannualawardforlecturers(1993),aHeisenbergscholarship(1994),andaJSPSFellowship(2003).A.StephenK.HashmiisProfessorforOrganicChemistryatStuttgartUniversity.BorninMunich,Germany,hecompletedhisstudiesattheLMUMunich,gaininghisdoctorateunderthesupervisionofGünterSzeimies.Duringhispost-doctorateatStanfordUniversity,heworkedwithBarryM.Trost.HisfurtherpostdoctoralworkattheFUBerlin,ViennaUniversityandFrankfurtUniversitywithJohannMulzerandfurtheractivitiesattheUniversityofTasmaniaandMarburgUniversityculminatedinhispositionatStuttgartUniversityin2001.
