SebastiãoSalgado(bornFebruary8,1944)isaBraziliansocialdocumentaryphotographerandphotojournalist.Hehastraveledinover120countriesforhisphotographicprojects.Mostofthesehaveappearedinnumerouspresspublicationsandbooks.Touringexhibitionsofthisworkhavebeenpresentedthroughouttheworld.SalgadoisaUNICEFGoodwillAmbassador.HewasawardedtheW.EugeneSmithMemorialFundGrantin1982,ForeignHonoraryMembershipoftheAmericanAcademyofArtsandSciencesin1992andtheRoyalPhotographicSociety'sCentenaryMedalandHonoraryFellowship(HonFRPS)in1993.
