LindaGreenhousebegancoveringtheSupremeCourtforTheNewYorkTimesin1978.Withtheexceptionoftwoyearsduringthemid-1980's,duringwhichshecoveredCongress,sheservedasthepaper'sregularSupremeCourtcorrespondentuntil2008.Previously,shecoveredlocalandstategovernmentandpoliticsfortheTimesinNewYork,andwaschiefofthenewspaper'slegislativebureauinAlbany.ShehasappearedasaWashingtonWeekpanelistsince1980.SheisagraduateofRadcliffeCollege,whereshecurrentlyservesontheadvisorycommitteetotheSchlesingerLibraryontheHistoryofAmericanWomen.SheearnedaMasterofStudiesinLawdegreefromYaleLawSchool,andhasseveralhonorarydegrees.ForhercoverageoftheCourt,shewasawardedaPulitzerPrizeinJournalism(beatreporting)in1998.In2004,shereceivedtheGoldsmithCareerAwardforExcellenceinJournalismfromtheKennedySchoolofGovernmentatHarvardandtheJohnChancellorAwardforExcellenceinJournalismfromtheAnnenbergSchoolforCommunicationattheUniversityofPennsylvania.
