Prof.WoutvanBommelMScworkedformorethan35yearswithPhilipsLightingindifferentlightingapplicationfunctions.Hehascarriedoutresearchintomanydifferentlightingsubjects.Hisresearchworkhasbeenthebasisforconceptsnowusedininternationalstandardsforlighting.From2003-2007,hewasPresidentoftheInternationalLightingCommission,CIE.From1988-2008,hewastheDutchrepresentativeoftheEuropeanLightingNormalisationCommitteeCENTC169.HeiscurrentlyaboardmemberoftheDutch"Light&HealthResearchFoundation,"SOLG.In2004,WoutvanBommelwasappointedConsultingProfessorattheFudanUniversityofShanghai,andin2008,ExternalExamineroftheMasterCourse"LightandLighting"attheUniversityCollegeofLondon(UCL,BartlettInstitute).Hehaspublishedmorethan150papersinnationalandinternationallightingjournalsindifferentlanguages.Allovertheworldhehaspresentedpapers,hastaughtatuniversitiesandschools,andhasgiveninvitedlecturesatconferences.AfterhisretirementfromPhilipsLighting,hebeganadvisinglightingdesigners,researchers,companies,municipalities,andgovernmentalbodies,asanindependentLightingConsultant.HeiscurrentlySectionEditorforthesectiontitled"Lighting"fortheEncyclopediaofColorScienceandTechnology.,,
