TonyBlairbecameanMPin1983,leaderoftheLabourPartyin1994,andwasprimeministeroftheUnitedKingdomfromMay1997toJune2007.Sinceleavingoffice,hehasservedastheQuartetRepresentativetotheMiddleEast,representingtheU.S.,theUN,Russia,andtheEUinworkingwiththePalestinianstoprepareforstatehoodaspartoftheinternationalcommunity’sefforttosecurepeace.InMay2008helaunchedtheTonyBlairFaithFoundation,whichpromotesrespectandunderstandingamongthemajorreligions.HisAfricaGovernanceInitiativeworkswithleadersandtheirgovernmentsonpolicydeliveryandattractingsustainableinvestmentinRwanda,SierraLeone,andLiberia.Healsoworkswithworldleaderstobuildconsensusonaninternationalclimate-policyframework.
