PeterBJonesMB,MSc,MA,PhD,FRCP,MRCPsych,FmedSciisProfessorofPsychiatryandHeadoftheDepartmentofPsychiatryattheUniversityofCambridge.HereadforhisfirstdegreeinanatomyandneurobiologyatKing'sCollege,London,beforequalifyinginmedicinefromWestminsterMedicalSchool.Following3yearsofgeneralmedicalposts,ProfessorJonesbeganpsychiatryattheBethlemandMaudsleyHospitalsinLondonwhere,aftercompletingamastersdegreeinclinicalepidemiologyattheLondonSchoolofHygieneandTropicalMedicineandhisPhDinpsychiatricepidemiology,hewasappointedasSeniorLecturerandHonoraryConsultantPsychiatristin1993.In1997hetookuptheChairofPsychiatryandCommunityMentalHealthinNottingham,movingtoCambridgein2000.ProfessorJones'researchconcernsepidemiologyofmentalillness,particularlythepsychoses,earlylifecourseinfluencesonadultmentalhealthandillness,andtheinterfacebetweenpopulation-basedandbiologicalinvestigationsandexplanations,includinggenetics.Clinically,hedirectsanewserviceforpeoplewithfirstepisodepsychosis(CAMEO,www.cameo.nhs.uk)jointlywithProfessorEdBullmore,andispresentlyanon-executiveDirectoroftheCambridgeshireandPeterboroughMentalHealthPartnershipNHSTrust.PeterFBuckley,MD,isProfessorandChairmanintheDepartmentofPsychiatryattheMedicalCollegeofGeorgiainAugusta.HeimmigratedtoAmericain1992aftercompletinghismedicaldegreeandpost-doctoraltrainingattheUniversityCollegeDublinSchoolofMedicineinIreland.Histhesiswasonthesubjectofneuroimagingandneurodevelopmentinschizophrenia.BeforejoiningtheDepartmentofPsychiatryattheMedicalCollegeofGeorgia,DrBuckleywasProfessorofPsychiatryandViceChairintheDepartmentofPsychiatryatCaseWesternReserveUniversitySchoolofMedicineinCleveland,OhioandservedasMedicalDirectoratNorthcoastBehavioralHealthcareSystem(NBHS),theadultstatepsychiatricservicesforClevelandandToledo,Ohio.DrBuckleyconductsresearchontheneurobiologyandtreatmentofschizophrenia.Heisauthorofatextbookonpsychiatryandhaseditedeightspecialistbooksonschizophrenia,aswellaspublishingwidelyinmajorpsychiatricjournalswithover250bookchapters,articlesandabstracts.DrBuckleyisalsoEditor-in-ChiefoftheJournalofDualDiagnosisandisontheeditorialboardoffiveotherjournals.Heisrecipientofseveralawardsforhiswork,includinganExemplaryPsychiatristAwardfromtheNationalAlliancefortheMentallyIll.DrBuckleyisalsotherecipientofthe2004AmericanPsychiatricAssociationAdministrativePsychiatricAward.
