WangQijun，BorninXuzhou，JiangsuProvince，in1954，WangQijunbeganhisprofessionalstudiesattheDepartmentofFineArts，NanjingArtCollege，laterobtainedhismaster'sdegreefromtheDepartmentofArchitecture，ChongqingCollegeofArchitecturalEngineering.HeusedtobeaneditorwiththeChinaArchitecture&BuildingPress，buthas，sincegraduatingfromNanjingArtCollege，alsobeenapainter，manyofhisworksforwhichhehasbeenawardedanumberofprizesbeenshownatexhibitionsbothonanationalandprovinciallevel.AnumberofhispaintingshaveappearedinFineArtsandotherjournals.Hismonograph，ChineseVernacularDwellings，examinesthetype，layout，structure，workmanshipandaestheticsofthesebuildings.Drawingsintraditionalstyleaccompanythetext.Theauthorhaslateronwrittenanotherbookonthesubject，ChineseTraditionalDomesticArchitecture，andrecentlyhadanumberofpaperspublishedinthefollowingjournals：Architects，ArchitecturalJournal，FineArtsandStudiesonFineArts，amongothers.
