C.S.Lewis(CliveStaplesLewis,1898-1963)wasoneoftheintellectualgiantsofthetwentiethcenturyandarguablyoneofthemostinfluentialwritersofhisday.HewasaFellowandTutorinEnglishLiteratureatOxfordUniversityuntil1954,whenhewasunanimouslyelectedtotheChairofMedievalandRenaissanceLiteratureatCambridgeUniversity,apositionhehelduntilhisretirement.Hewrotemorethanthirtybooks,allowinghimtoreachavastaudience,andhisworkscontinuetoattractthousandsofnewreaderseveryyear.HismostdistinguishedandpopularaccomplishmentsincludeMereChristianity,OutoftheSilentPlanet,TheGreatDivorce,TheScrewtapeLetters,andtheuniversallyacknowledgedclassicsTheChroniclesofNarnia.Todate,theNarniabookshavesoldover100millioncopiesandbeentransformedintothreemajormotionpictures.C.S.刘易斯，英国作家。曾执教于牛津大学(1925～1954)。1954～1963年任剑桥大学中世纪和文艺复兴英国文学教授。所著儿童故事集《纳尼亚传奇》情节动人，妙趣横生。其他作品有《爱情的寓言：对中世纪传统的研究》(1936)以及科幻小说三部曲《沉寂的星球》(1938)、《皮尔兰德拉星》(1943)和《黑暗之劫》(1945)等。
