AnneBaldassari,editorialdirectorofthiswork,joinedtheMuséePicassoParisascuratorin1992,andservedasitsdirectorfrom2005–10anditspresidentfrom2010–14.Fromherarrival,sheinstigatedapolicyofresearch,exhibition,andpublicationdedicatedtoPicasso’sworksthatreceivedinternationalacclaim.ShehascuratednumerousExhibitionsandpublishedavastbodyofworkonPicasso,includingPicassoandPhotography(1997),Bacon–Picasso(2005),TheSurrealistPicasso(2005),Picasso:LifewithDoraMaar,LoveandWar1939–1945(2006),andCubistPicasso(2007),allpublishedbyFlammarion,andcontributedtoMatisse–Picasso(TheMuseumofModernArt,2002).Whilethemuseumwasclosedforrenovation,sheorganizedtheitinerantexhibitionPicasso:MasterpiecesfromtheMuséeNationalPicasso,Paris,amajorretrospectiveofPicasso’soeuvrethatwasadaptedforeachofthehostcountries.Theexhibitionwasheldinanumberofprestigiousartestablishmentsaroundtheworld—fromEuropetoChinaorRussiatoNorthAmerica—includingtheSeattleArtMuseum(2010–11),theVirginiaMuseumofFineArts,Richmond(2011),thedeYoungMuseum,SanFrancisco(2011),andtheArtGalleryofOntario,Toronto(2012).,,
