TourismresearchinChinahasreceivedincreasingattentioninthedomesticandinternationalacademiccommunitiesthroughpublicationsinChineseandEnglish.AlthoughreviewsonsuchpublicationshavegivenscholarsoutsideChinaageneraloverviewoftheresearchoftourisminChina，theycannotdojusticetotheworkbymainlandscholars，whichappearedinvariousjournalsoveraperiodoftime.Furthermore，lesswasdonetoshowcasetheworkfromoneresearchteamofagivenuniversity.ThepresentcollectionofpapersbythefacultymembersandresearchstudentsoftheSchoolofTourismManagement（STM），SunYat-senUniversity，intendstofillinthegap.Thecollectionselectsfrom126paperspublishedinmorethan20internationaljournalsfrom2008to2017intheareasoftourism，hospitality，sportsandleisurebythefacultymembersandresearchstudentsofSTM，aleadingandfastdevelopingtourismandhospitalityinstitutioninChina.Thecriteriaforselectingthe46papersare：1）Allpapershavebeenpublishedinthesixleadingtourismandhospitalityjournals，namelyAnnalsofTourismResearch，InternationalJournalofHospitalityManagement，JournalofHospitality&TourismResearch，JournalofSustainableTourism，JournalofTravelResearch，andTourismManagement;2）Allpapersrelatedtotourism，hospitality，sportsandleisurethatappearedintopnon-tourismjournalsareincluded，ProgressinHumanGeographybeingoneexample;3）Whenafacultymemberhasnotpublishedintheabovejournals，oneofhis/herpublicationsinareferredjournalisincluded，forinstance，JournalofChinaTourismResearch.PapersinthecollectionwerepublishednolaterthantheendofFebruary，2017.Paperspublishedonlinearenotincludedduetocopyrightissues.Thecollectionconsistsoffiveparts.Thefirstpartisonresearchprogress，philosophicalandconceptualissuesintourism.Thesecondpartisonresidents'perceptionsofandattitudestowardstourismdevelopment.Thethirdpartfocusesonsustainabletourismanddestinationdevelopment.Thefourthpartisontouristbehavioursanddestinationmarketing.Thefifthpartisonhospitalityandeventresearch.ItakethisopportunitytothanktheCommissioningEditorMrYanxuSunandhisteamfortheirsupport，understandingandpatiencethroughouttheeditingandpreparationprocess.IamverygratefulforthefundingfromSunYat-senUniversityandtheinstitutionalsupportfromSTM.Mygratitudealsogoestothecolleagueswhohelpedatvariousstages.Inaddition，Iwouldalsoliketothanktheoriginaljournalsandpublishersforgrantingthereusepermissionsoftherespectivepapers.Finally，IamespeciallygratefulforDrGanghuaChenforhisworkincontactingauthors，publishers，andeditingmanuscripts，andforProfessorHonggangXuforherhelpinobtainingcopyrights.Thisbookwouldnothavecomeintobeingwithouttheireffortandexpertise.
